Published Nov 14, 2023 intel CWE-92 EPSS 0.19% (9th pctl)

Overview

CVE-2022-29510 is a high-severity vulnerability affecting intel compute_module_hns2600bp_firmware. It was published on November 14, 2023 and has a CVSS 3.1 base score of 7.5 (HIGH).

This vulnerability has a CVSS 3.1 base score of 7.5, rated HIGH. It requires local or adjacent network access to exploit. Some level of privileges is required for exploitation.

Technical Description

Improper buffer restrictions in some Intel(R) Server Board M10JNP2SB BIOS firmware before version 7.219 may allow a privileged user to potentially enable escalation of privilege via local access.

Remediation

Check the references section for vendor advisories and patches from intel. Update compute_module_hns2600bp_firmware to the latest patched version. If immediate patching is not possible, review the CVSS vector to understand the attack surface and apply compensating controls such as network segmentation or access restrictions.
