CVE-2026-106445
Handlebars provides the power necessary to let users build semantic templates.
Overview
CVE-2026-106445 is a known-severity vulnerability. It was published on October 6, 2026.
Technical description
Handlebars provides the power necessary to let users build semantic templates. From 3.0.0 until 4.7.10, Handlebars lookupProperty returns Function.prototype.constructor before applying the prototype-access deny list because constructor is an own property of Function.prototype. When an attacker can render a controlled template with allowProtoMethodsByDefault enabled and an accessible function in the template context, the template can traverse from that function through its prototype to Function.prototype and then obtain the Function constructor through the own-property bypass. This permits attacker-controlled JavaScript to execute with the server application's privileges. This issue is fixed in version 4.7.10.
Remediation
Check the references section for vendor advisories, patches, and mitigation guidance. If immediate patching is not possible, review the CVSS vector to understand the attack surface and apply compensating controls such as network segmentation or access restrictions.

How can CyberStrike help with CVE-2026-106445?
CyberStrike is an open-source, AI-augmented pentesting engine. Rather than flag a version number, it tests whether an issue like CVE-2026-106445 is actually reachable in your own applications and APIs, then verifies each finding before reporting it. That tells you if the weakness is a real, exploitable risk in your environment or a false positive you can safely deprioritize.
