The most common reasons an alert does not arrive, and how to check each one.
If a monitor went down and nobody was notified, work through these checks in order. Most cases are solved by the first three.
Navy alerts only when three regions see the same failure. If the monitor page shows red dots in one or two regions but no incident, the failure was regional. You can opt in to regional alerts per monitor under Alerts.
Open the monitor and check Alerts. If it says “No policy”, nobody will be notified. Attach a policy directly or through a tag.
If the policy pages an on-call schedule, check the schedule for gaps at the time of the incident. Gaps are highlighted in red on the calendar.
Monitors paused for maintenance do not alert. Paused monitors show a grey badge on the dashboard.
If none of these explain it, contact support with the incident link and we will trace the alert for you.
