Use a custom domain

Serve your status page from a domain you own, such as status.yourcompany.test, with HTTPS included.

Custom domains are available on the Team and Business plans. Navy issues and renews the certificate for you.

Add the domain

  1. Open your status page and go to Settings, then Domain.
  2. Enter the domain you want to use, for example status.yourcompany.test.
  3. Navy shows the DNS record you need to add.

Update your DNS

In your DNS provider, create a CNAME record that points your status subdomain to the target shown in Navy. Changes usually take a few minutes, but can take up to an hour.

Verify

Back in Navy, click Verify. Once the record is found, Navy issues a certificate and the domain shows as active. Your old navy.test address keeps working and redirects to the new domain.

Troubleshooting

  • Verification fails: Make sure there is no other record, such as an A record, on the same name.
  • Certificate pending: If you use a proxy in front of your domain, turn it off until the certificate is issued.
